Marián Milčák (1960) was born in Revúca and currently lives in Levoča. He works as a university lecturer at the FF UPJŠ in Košice. He published poetry volumes Priestupný rok (1989), Pevné hviezdy (1992), Mramorová sieň (1992), Plnosť (1993), Skrytá pieseň (1995), Ženy obedujúce s mŕtvym (2005), Siedma kniha spánku (2006), Hra s hadmi (2014) and Teserakt (2018). Together with Peter Milčák, he translated poetry books by Zbigniew Herbert and Czesław Miłosz. He used to work as university lecturer in Poland and Slovenia. His poems were translated into numerous languages. As a researcher, he focuses on theory of poetic text and communication aesthetics. He published two monographs.
