Nylon Union

Nylon Union is a Slovak music project that has been moving within the realms of electronic and guitar music since its formation in 2000. Today, the project is driven by frontman and primary creator Richard Imrich (vocals, guitar, keyboards), who has been collaborating with producer Erik Horák (Zlokot, Noisecut) and poet Peter Šulej since 2020. Nylon Union debuted in 2001 with the Oxeyed EP, which gained international recognition, including airplay on BBC Radio 1. Their first full-length album, Sine Sine (2012), was characterized by a blend of walls of guitar, electronic loops, and subtle vocals. Following a six-year hiatus, they released two new albums almost simultaneously: the post-rock Undisclosed Grounds (2018) and the ambient-folk Into Waters Islands Dreams And Creatures Come (2019). The more art-pop and psychedelia-flavored albums Words And Waves (2023) and Defragment Us (2025) received international acclaim, with reviews appearing in several renowned media outlets such as the British portal Louder Than War, the American radio station KEXP, and the Czech magazine Full Moon. Tracks from these last two albums regularly rotate on independent radio stations in more than 10 countries, and Defragment Us was nominated for Album of the Year/Journalists' Award at the Radio_Head Awards.
