Elena Pecenová
Elena Pecenová (born 1994 in Pardubice) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, specialising in intermedia; she works in the fields of visual art and writing, and is currently developing the genre of the artistic novella. In 2019, she won the jury’s special prize in the František Halas Literary Competition and was awarded a prize in the Slovak-Czech competition Básne SK/CZ. In 2020 and 2021, she edited the magazine Psí víno. She has published the poetry collections Jako bych očima fotografovala stále ty stejné snímky (As If I Were Photographing the Same Images Over and Over Again with My Eyes) (NAVU, 2022) and Na cestu zpět si zapínám skryté titulky (I Turn on Hidden Subtitles for the Journey Back) (Adolescent, 2023), both of which were shortlisted for the Jiří Orten Prize. In 2026, she published her third book, Jediný únor je opravdový Měsíc (The Only February Is the Real Moon) (Větrné mlýny).
