Jana Micenková

Jana Micenková (born 1980) studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at FAMU in Prague. She made her literary debut with the short story collection Sladký život (The Sweet Life, 2018), which was nominated for the Anasoft Litera Award. Her dramatic text Rekonštrukcia prípadu Janko Rybárik (Reconstruction of the Case Janko Rybárik) won 2nd place in the DRÁMA 2019 competition and was presented as a staged reading at the Slovak National Theatre. Her play Mindfuckwas published in the contemporary drama anthology GREEN DRÁMA (2020).

In 2021, she published the psychological novel Krv je len voda (Blood Is Only Water), which explores the origins of a violent act and the breakdown of a dysfunctional family. The novel was nominated for both the Anasoft Litera and Renéawards, and has been published in Hungarian and Czech.

She also writes radio plays for Radio Devín.
