Dušan Dušek

Dušan Dušek was born on January 4, 1946, in Gbelce. He graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University in Bratislava, majoring in geology and chemistry. He worked

in the editorial offices of the magazines Smena, Tip, Kamarát, and Slovenské pohľady.

From 1978 to 1992, he was a freelance writer. From 1993 to 2021, he taught screenwriting at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.

He has published about 30 prose books, from his debut Strecha domu (The Roof of the House, 1972) to Deti v daždi (Children in the Rain, 2023). He has also written several books for children.
