Lili Kemény
Lili Kemény was born in 1993 in Budapest. In 2018, she graduated in film directing at the University of Theatre and Film Arts. During her last years at the university, she worked on a monumental literary translation together with Balázs Sipos, translating David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest (Jelenkor, 2019) to Hungarian. In 2020, she interrupted her DLA (on collaborative filmmaking, including the practices of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Lav Diaz, Mariano Llinás and Albert Serra) to protest against the aggressive political reorganization of her home institution. In 2024, her highly acclaimed novel Not (Nem) was published by the independent sucure-sale, for which she received the Margó Prize.
