Mária Modrovich

Mária Modrovich (1977) is the author of 5 books of fiction, Lu & Mira, The Silent Mode, Flashback, Interview with a Cult Member, and, most recently, Day Night Water (2024). Flashback has made it into the TOP 5 of the presitgious Anasoft Litera Award 2018 and it was nominated for the EU Prize for Literature in 2019. In 2023, Interview with a Cult Member was adapted for the stage. Petra Fornayová directed the eponymous play for Žilina Theatre and Katarzyna Dudzic-Grabińska for the National Theatre in Katowice, Poland, under the title Jodłowa dolina.

Modrovich co-curates the international literary festival Novotvar. She works with the Slovak Literary Centre and with the arts and culture revue VLNA.
