Natalka Suszczyńska was born in Białystok, eastern Poland in 1988, and for the last 15 years she has been living in Warsaw. She is a short stories author, publishing in literary magazines since 2012 ("Wakat", "Rita Baum", "Elewator", "Fabularie", "ZNAK Magazyn"). Her first collection of short stories called "Dropie" (HA!ART) is a surreal vision of precariat life. It was published in 2019 and was nominated for Witold Gombrowicz Prize for the best debut and Wieslaw Kazanecki Literary Award. In 2021 she published a literary zine with short stories called "Sny i pokemony", created as a part of the President of Bialystok Fellowship. Since the beginning of this year, she has been working as an editor of literary magazine "Strona Czynna". The literary project she is focusing on during her residency is a kind of her own Eribon's "Return to Reims". In her case, more in a form of literary fiction than an autobiographical essay, but still summing up reflections focused on Belarussian roots in her own family.
