Pavel Sibyla

Pavel Sibyla (1978) is a Slovak journalist and writer, winner of the Slovak Journalism Award for Best Reportage and the Slovak winner of the European Year of Journalism against Poverty and Social Exclusion. In 2009, he published two books of prose: a collection of short stories Coffee Stories and a novella A Thing about Orchids. His short stories have been published in the anthologies Five x Five (2011) and Non-smoking Prohibited (2012). Sibyla's most recent work of fiction, titled At the Turn of April and May, was published in 2022 by Literárna Bašta. He comes from Hriňová and lives in Bratislava with his wife Pavlína and son Viliam.
