Ludwika Włodek
Ludwika Włodek graduated from the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Warsaw. She is also an alumna of the Graduate School for Social Research at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she received her PhD in sociology. At the Centre for Eastern European Studies, she heads the Central Asian specialization. She is interested in national ideologies, identity politics, modernization and postcolonial studies. Beside her academic career, she works as a publicist and reporter. She is the author of several books. The latest one, The Rebels from Afghanistan, was published in 2022 and is about Afghan women’s rights activists before and after the Taliban takeover.
Her book about Spis was published in Polish in 2017.
